Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry is designed to improve the smile. The patient is generally smiling only about 5% of the time, as we generally don’t see patients with a smile on their face all day long unless they have lost their minds. Nobody in his or her right mind is smiling all day which is why cosmetic dentistry and porcelain veneers have a limited benefit. Cosmetic dentistry is good for those patients that do not need a mouth reconstruction, are generally younger and have a good bite. Cosmetic dentistry involves porcelain veneers for the most part and in the best instances, the porcelain veneers are of the non-invasive variety.

Mouth Reconstruction

A mouth reconstruction is centered on the patient that needs a lot of dentistry. It can include dental implants, porcelain crowns, porcelain veneers, root canals and more. The bite is improved and centric relation is located for the patient. Sometimes the Myotronics electronic dentist assist technology is utilized to help the dentist find a location that would be comfortable to the patient. A bite reconstruction is centered on the teeth and generally not the face. Mouth reconstructions are basically improvement in the bite, removing decay, replacing old restorations and developing a smile.

Extreme-Makeover

A dental extreme-makeover is generally designed for the patient that just looks horrible and almost anything done to improve the health and smile is a huge improvement. The improvement in an extreme-makeover is so obvious that anyone can see the difference. However, there are levels of care that an extreme-makeover does not achieve as it’s main intent is to improve the bad appearance of the patient and improve dental health.

Teeth Reconstruction

When about 4 to 7 teeth need work, they can be treated at one time. In just a couple of visits, the patient can have all 4 to 7 teeth in a section of their mouth treated to restore the teeth into the normal function. The bite remains the same and is not improved very much, when only 7 teeth are treated. A mouth reconstruction would involve far more teeth and so would an extrmem-makeover.

Bite Reconstruction

A bad bite can be improved as these patients generally have jaw pain, headaches, clicking or popping jaws and are in pain. The bite is corrected to relieve pain, discomfort or improve the function while chewing. Bite reconstruction generally involves porcelain crown and also involves cosmetic dentistry and porcelain crowns as Lava, Procera, porcelain fused to metal, Di Vinci Crowns, Empress Crowns and other varieties.

Face Lift Dentistry ®
